Gianisa Adisaputri, PhD (student)

Gianisa Adisaputri is a PhD student in the Faculty of Health at Dalhousie University, specializing in Social Work. With a background as a physician in Indonesia and a master’s degree in emergency management, she brings a unique interdisciplinary approach to her research. Her doctoral work explores immigrant women's access to primary healthcare in rural Nova Scotia, reflecting her commitment to improving health equity and outcomes for underserved populations. Gianisa is a Research Associate at the Resilience Research Centre and the Faculty of Medicine, where she contributes to projects focused on advancing health outcomes for underserved populations. She is particularly passionate about population health and community-based research. In collaboration with community organizations such as IMWAH, she examines the complex intersections of gender, migration, and healthcare access. Outside academia, Gianisa is a dedicated mother of two who enjoys baking and experimenting with new recipes.
